what if we could imagine, develop and actually build using this huge, currently underestimated potential?
formulating ideas and problems in architecture is mediated by the way we draw. nowadays there are several software packages existing facilitating geometry manipulation, representation and communication of future projects. architectural education is focused mostly on mastering this software.
what if we could create diverse custom tools collectively, with less effort and less dependency on cracked commercial software? could we then focus more on long term consequences of our work? isn’t that the urbanism we are looking for?
star architects traveling around the globe and selling their unique style are part of economy that is already over. cultural colonialism should be soon replaced by territorial activism. in order to create innovation contributing to local traditions, diversity of thoughts and their visual representations is necessary. it’s very difficult to observe, learn and creatively collaborate using same tools again and again.
